By accessing or using KeepKnown ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

KeepKnown is an email filtering service that helps you manage emails from unknown senders. The Service:

  • Connects to your Gmail account via Google OAuth
  • Reads your contacts to identify known senders
  • Automatically labels and archives emails from senders not in your contacts
  • Creates a "KK:OUTSIDERS" label in your Gmail for filtered emails

3. Account Registration

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use KeepKnown. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You should:

  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Not share your account with others

4. Subscription and Payment

Free Trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial. No payment information is required to start your trial.

Paid Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe or PayPal
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard

Refunds

We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you're unsatisfied with the Service, please contact us within 14 days of your purchase.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Google API Usage

Our use of Google APIs is subject to Google's Terms of Service. By connecting your Google account, you also agree to comply with Google's terms.

You may revoke KeepKnown's access to your Google account at any time through:

  • Your KeepKnown dashboard (Linked Accounts page)
  • Your Google Account security settings

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by KeepKnown and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

We do not guarantee that the Service will filter all unwanted emails or that it will be compatible with all email configurations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KeepKnown shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Loss of data
  • Loss of goodwill
  • Business interruption

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KeepKnown, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Is harmful to other users or the Service
  • Is fraudulent or illegal

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your dashboard.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
